Post by God of Thunder on Fri Dec 05, 2014 5:16 pm

K-1 Global is pleased to announce that international muay thai superstar Yodsanklai Fairtex and K-1 have come to an agreement that will see Yodsanklai step into the K-1 ring again for the first time since 2008. Yodsanklai, known as the “Boxing Computer” across the world has fought the best in the world across multiple weight classes, including holding Lumpinee Stadium championships in two weight classes.

This new deal will bring Yodsanklai to K-1 where he will represent his home country of Thailand, adapting his unique skillset to the K-1 ring. Yodsanklai is one of the most popular fighters from Thailand and has been fighting the best of the best since the late 90’s in Thailand. He holds a record of 192 wins and 71 losses with an incredible 76 knockouts to his name. K-1 is very excited to bring Yodsanklai into the K-1 ring and hope to test him against the best fighters in the world at 70kg for the tenure of his two-year, exclusive kickboxing contract.

Not the fighter he was years ago but it'll still be cool to see him exclusively in the K1 ring.

Agree but he´s born in 1985 and is riding a 15 fight win streak so he still got it.

To be fair, he has been going against overmatched opposition since the Chikr Lindsay fight and while he is young numerically, he's practically ancient in muay thai terms.

He's still a great talent but he isn't the P4P best like he once was. Making the switch to K1 is the best thing he could've possibly done. It won't be as tough on him physically and he'll get better opponents more consistently. I'm looking forward to what K1 will be bringing in for him, because this looks like they're setting up for their next GP with this signing.

Mostly, im glad he's out of Thai Fight, because that place is a waste of time for actual Thai fighters.

You can't catch kicks in k1. Imagine that, someone can kick you and you can't by rule, catch their kick.

He should've signed with Legend but I'm not sure he's even heard of it.

Besides that, basically everything wekka said. Thai fight and max muay are rather terrible overall so it's a good move, though I'm sure he can fight anywhere Fairtex want him to.
