UFC raises prices for next three pay-per-view fight cards!

Post by Rizin=PRIDEFC on Sun Dec 28, 2014 8:24 am

According to a Dec. 24 report from The UG, the next three UFC pay-per-views will be offered for $59.99 apiece on DirectTV, a five dollar increase over their previous pay-per-view cards. So far, the UFC hasn't provided an explanation for the price increase. No word yet if the price increase will be permanent, or if its just for the next three pay-per-view events.

UFC 182, UFC 183 and UFC 184 will be $59.99 each on DirectTV, for fight fans who wish to view in HD. Will fight fans be upset to learn prices have gone up in the new year? Absolutely, but they'll learn to live with it. This isn't the first time the UFC raised prices for stacked fight cards, as UFC 168 was provided for a premium price as well. In the past, the UFC maintained a set price for every pay-per-view card.

That all changed last year, with a slight price increase for UFC 168. Now it appears UFC 182, UFC 183 and UFC 184 will be a tad more expensive than past fight cards as well. Is it in the UFC's best interests to increase pay-per-view prices just before Christmas? There's no doubt about it. Most fight fans are happy to open their wallets around the holiday season, so the time is right for a slight price increase for UFC pay-per-views.

The product is better than ever, as there are literally hundreds of high-level fighters worth paying for. With Jon Jones set to fight Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 182, the promotion is looking to bank on its top superstars to deliver big ratings, following a down year in pay-per-view sales.

2014 was a snake-bitten year, with several of the UFC's top stars withdrawing from fight cards due to injury. Heading into 2015, many familiar faces are set to return, with the likes of Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz and Ronda Rousey slated to compete in the world-famous UFC Octagon.

UFC 183 features a headliner of Diaz versus Silva, and UFC 184 will see Chris Weidman tussling with Vitor Belfort for the UFC's middleweight championship. 2015 is shaping up to be a solid year for the UFC. Fight fans will simply have to pay a bit more to enjoy the product.

Saw this the other day in an article.

Zuffa is a desperate company.

If you enjoy mma and/or respect yourself as a consumer then dont support this drowning company that doesn't appreciate its customers.

Legit lol @ the people who are ordering these ppv's.

"You're loss. The Octagon is as real as it gets. Dana even said that the best are in the UFC and pussies like the Russian Fedor are scared to enter it.

Dana is so cool. He's a bad ass.

Mike Goldberg knows what he's talking about when he says, "The UFC is the superbowl of mixed martial arts".

Cage fighting for life!!!!!!!"

They need more money because the company is a sinking ship.

Now with the new lawsuits Zuffa definitely needs the money.

People still supporting Zuffa(uneducated fans and cage fighting fans) are helping Zuffa to have extra money to put towards defending/defeating the lawsuits.

Not surprised since their a PPV business and their PPVs are in severe decline. This is the same thing the WWE has done for years where they would jack the prices to counter the declining customers.

Water down product and reduce quality, offer an insane number of events each year significantly over saturating the product, pay employees dirt, control employee likeness rights for life, lock employees into contracts which employer can terminate at any time but employee is locked for life, treat employees like shit and smear them if they complain, take over total control of the sponsorship money while already ripping off fighters on salary, reduce demand drastically for the product with oversaturation and then increase the price....Great business strategy.

With Wrestle Kingdom 9 the same night as Jones/Cormier, I know my money is better spent elsewhere

Very well said.

Zuffa is such a garbage company.

No wonder people are waking up and turning their back on this company and it's product.

One man's opinion.....but.....I think Wrestle Kingdom 9 will provide more entertainment. Plus you can't go wrong with Jim Ross.

And you won't be supporting Zuffa. Very Happy
