TNG and DS9 are the best, but stay away from Voyager. Voyager had its moments, but as a whole was terrible.

Under Zuffa's sucktacular rule system, I do not see how Jon Jones won. I got Cormier winning at least three out of five of the rounds. He had Jon Jones backpedaling the first three rounds. If that is not "Octagon Control" then what is?
I am looking around to see how the judges figure Jon Jones won and all I am seeing is "Jones outstruck Cormier" or that Jones picked up the pace and "out grinded" Cormier in the 4th and fifth.
If you go by the outstriking criteria then I will need to know what you mean by that. If you are saying he got more strikes in than Cormier, then, unless that is by a significant margin, doesn't really matter. This isn't the MMA scoring system this is your 10 point must system with a much more hazy criteria for "effective striking."
If you are saying that Jones "outgrinded" Cormier in the 4th and fifth and found a way to adapt and win. Then that also means nothing under the ten-point mustsystem. That is just you proving that we need to adopt PRIDE/ONEFC style "score the fight as a whole" system.
What I am getting at is, please, someone, tell me which one of the first three rounds did Jones win and how?

So two wrestlers had another bad kickboxing match, eh? Yet another reason we need catch wrestling.

I watched part of the NFL playoff game last night and then read a book until going to bed. Didn't even check the results last night.

Looked around on a bunch of sites today. Every single review/mention of the show says it was pretty bad. Many people say the show was boring and not very exciting.

Yeah. I had a live stream going with the sound off. Kept checking in, saw two faceless guys pretending to be martial artists or badasses then I went back to doing something else until the main event showed up.

Whatever you have to say about the card, UFC, Zuffa, I maintain that that single main event was a big deal. Two long time undefeated fighters (one in two different organizations) who are both in their prime and at the height of their careers fought. That is rare and a big deal. Usually, the best we can get is some young up and comer knocking off "legends of the sport". This was two of the best, at their best, fighting each other.

But I still the UFC and Jon Jones.

UFC fighters only know four submissions: Rear naked choke, guillotine choke, kimura (originally double wrist lock in catch) and, maybe, the armbar. If they can't get any of those then they don't know what to do.

Cage fighting fans are the worst. The cage, heavy metal music and Dana f'n White is what they want.

Yeah, that Burkman/Lombard fight did not turn out well. Burkman looked terrible and was in survival mode most the fight. Lombard was just working to win a decision. He should have finished that fight.

I agree. I love Rock n' Roll and Heavy Metal music. That song is garbage. I prefer pomp and pageantry in MMA.

The event was what it was. It had to disappoint some given there were a lot of finishes in the prelims and none in the main card.

Lombard/Burkman was alright but very one sided. To be fair, Burkman is tough to finish and I think Lombard didn't want to waste energy. The Horiguchi/Gaudinot fight was alright as I'm glad Horiguchi won. The Taveres/Marquardt fight sucked and Marquardt is likely done at this point. The co-main was boring as Jury wasn't ready for that step up. The Main Event was entertaining but I'm not sure if it reached expectations. I knew if Jones would win, it would be like that and get Cormier tired in the later rounds.

Horiguchi/Gaudinot fight was typical flyweight fight.... one guy rushes forward with a looping hook or a over hand right and the other guy just runs back 5 feet repeat that for 15 mins.

The UFC cage is far too big and allows guys to not engage and run around.... as seen by that coward josh burkman who did the kalib starnes
