Jarrell Miller Wins

Post by TeamJohnPerretti on Fri Jun 05, 2015 1:14 am

Down the block from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Dmitry Salita’s “Star of David” promotions held the first ever professional card at the Schwartz Athletic Center on the campus of Long Island University on Thursday night. The seven-bout card was the second of three to be held within a half-mile radius in Brooklyn following the Amir Khan-Chris Algieri fight last Friday at Barclays and the Miguel Cotto-Daniel Geale bout upcoming this Saturday at the same venue.

In the main event of the card promoted by Salita, unbeaten heavyweight Jarrell Miller (13-0-1, 11 KO’s) blew out Damon McCreary in two rounds. McCreary started the fight aggressively and even outworked Miller for the first two minutes but Miller soon found the sweet spot and dropped McCreary twice with the same punch: a left hook to the body. McCreary escaped the round but only by the skin of his teeth. A digging body shot in the second put him down again prompting referee Steve Willis to call the fight off at one minute and eight seconds of the round.
