If it is UFC, I hope he gets Hendo, Bigfoot, Werdum (title and retire).

I was told yesterday, Tuesday, Sept. 2, by someone who works closely with Bellator that Fedor is still scheduled to be at the Bellator Fan Fest in San Jose, California, on Sept. 18. Also, yesterday Bellator sent out an e-mail hyping that event which included Fedor's name and picture. This is not exactly where a fighter signed to Zuffa would go. But we shall see.

If he was already under contract for the appearances before signing then its not unthinkable that he would.

That fam fest will be epic....pretty sure sakuraba will be there...

Im gonna go for sure

I really doubt that would be the case. This is probably part of his comback tour, to get himself back out there again.

As for what a fighter signed to Zuffa wouldn't do, I agree with Eddie. That's pretty strong evidence he isn't signed to Zuffa.

He might yet sign though.

I have a feeling the negotiations are still ongoing. I can see it as maybe a down-the-road thing, with Fedor maybe fighting in Russia or Japan first.

The problem is, who the hell is he going to fight?

HW use to be really weak in the UFC, actually. I guess they took heed of that and decided to strategically monopolize the talent of the division.

That's what really forced Fedor into retirement.

They are probably pulling the same shit now, and low balling him and probably making ridiculous stipulations again.

Fucking parasites.

That is a serious question though; if not in Zuffa, who does Fedor have to fight? I don't know the answer; I'm asking for insight.

Kenny Garner? That type of guy maybe?

Still a far cry from the top fighters, which I'm sure he wants to fight.

A little more food for thought. Do you think it's possible that the Russian MMA community, including Fedor and his people, don't really completely understand the US scene, or about Zuffa in great detail?

I think that is very much the case.

I think they try to come at it as businessmen, trying to make a win-win deal, and Zuffa tries to manipulate and strongarm them, which is really a part of their business model.

Well fedor definitely isnt signed yet but it appears that's where he wants to go....

Fedor has been with bellator doing appearances for a while now along with royce gracie and others im not sure the length or stipulations in that contract but i would think he'd have to honor it reguardless of any contracts signed afterward.

If fedor isnt in ufc options are slim if hes wabting to fight top guys.

Ksw hw division is far from stacked

M1 has some really quality hws but are pretty unknown and i dont think would satisfy his desires.

Igf has openweight but i dont see fedor wanting to clash with more zuluzhino types lol.

Bellator has some good hws and is honestly where i hope he goes.

But a part of me would like to see him smash some ufc dooshs, and avenge his losses and may be even take that belt from werdum......id love to troll zuffa fags who always shit on fedor.

Outside of UFC HWs do not have much to offer to Fedor it would be better option to fight LHs like Stephan Puetz and Phil Davis

Do not want to see Fedor selling out to Zuffa at all. If he does though, the big fights are there with Hendo, Big Foot, and Werdum.

The only promotion I want to see Fedor in is Ganryujima. There he can showcase his sambo skills against sumos

Fedor is training hard everyday, he needs time to get back into fighting shape. Give the man some time to prepare, then we can talk about what org he will sign for.

I find it hard to believe Fedor has not been doing some training while being retired....He's hardly the guy to sit around getting really fat like Tim Sylvia.

I'm sure 4-5 months of full time training will get him back to top performance and then he can have a tune up fight against a decent level guy (not top tier obviously)

Re: Fedor coming back?

The return of Fedor Emelianenko continues to be a topic that attracts attention from pundits and fans alike, as many eagerly anticipate the end of the sweepstakes for the Russian heavyweight to determine where he will fight in the near future.

According to a recent report from CombatPress.com, Emelianenko has already signed with the UFC and is awaiting an official announcement from the promotion. However, according to the Russian heavyweight, he remains fixed in negotiations for the time being.

Fedor was present at FightSpirit Championship 5 in Russia as the guest of honor and revealed during a quick interview that he would announce his potential signing in the next couple of weeks.

"I can not say exactly, but negotiations with the leading promoters are in place," said Fedor. "In the next two or three weeks everything will become clear."

While rumours and reports have suggested that Fedor's first fight could take place at the UFC's anticipated stadium show in Melbourne, Australia, the Russian wants his first fight to be in either Japan or the United States. He also added that he will also take a fight in Russia shortly thereafter.

"I want to spend my return fight abroad, in Japan or the United States," Fedor confirmed (h/t Sovsport.ru). "But later I will definitely schedule a fight in my homeland, Russia"

With negotiations seemingly ongoing, it will be interesting where the legendary fighter settles over the coming weeks.

Sounds like he wants lots of Freedom to choose his fights, don't think he will get that with Zuffa.

Yeah bellator would allow him the most freedom i mean look at minakov.

Also when sakakibara said hed ask coker for help do you think that help would be lending fedor to him?

I dont see ufc allowing all his demands ......we shall see.

Chael also said fedor was 3 and 3 in sanction fights and that those fights in Japan don't count he even said on submission radio that's fights that were not sanction by an American athletic comission shouldn't count that must mean UFC fights held outside the states don't count either ?

Chael is just a never was who only claim is a fight he lost he talks shit about pride were the fuck was he when pride was around how come he didn't call them out then ? .
