Rizin

Post by Longtime Fan on Thu Oct 08, 2015 1:03 pm

Some notes from sakakibara's press conference

The new org's name will be RIZIN (not samurai or Pride 2.0)

It will hold:
- HW Grand Prix
- 3 Day Event for NYE
- Co Promotions
- FEDERATION (KSW, Bellator MMA, BAMMA, Jungle Fights, Desert Force..+)
- Fedor also said how this can open a door for Russian talent as well!
- PRIDE rules with possible elbows
- Openweight Fights
- The Debut mma fights for Gabi Gabrcia and Rena.

More info to come. Nothing is set in stone yet, much less fedor's first opponent back in competition.

Rampage wants to join rizin!

"I better start getting in shape because hopefully I'll be fighting by Christmas," said Jackson. "I'm looking forward to possibly fighting in Japan on New Year's if everything goes right. You all need to hit up [Bellator CEO] Scott Coker to call the dogs off of Rampage. The UFC already said they're going to be cool and aren't going to take no legal actions if I go back and settle up with you guys.

"I'm down to go to Japan and fight on that card. We can settle up and get s**t back going so I don't retire. That's the only other option. If they're going to tie me up in court for a couple years I might as well go retire and become a stripper."

Rampage just needs to let a representative speak for him because he is terrible at p.r.

In essence he might be a deush at times but in the end of it all I believe he isn't an evil person. He is a Good fighter and looks to be improving his Muay Thai in his last fight in UFC. I'd like to see him in RIZIN vs Fedor.

Now that many of our fears can be put to rest since pride rules are back, we will finally see real fights with a bigger toolset. Smarter mma.

We will see an evolution soon. More chain ups from strikers. Feet to floor combos. Lead leg kick , right straight = knock down to flying stomp (something wandy was close to pioneering when he back saku in wand vs saku 3

Best MMA news in years! Great they have so many MMA partners. They are going with the ring and the PRIDE rules, plus possibly elbows and the 10 minute 1st round. Perfect! Plus, bringing back the JMMA GP!

Sounds like Sakakibara landed a contract with major Japanese network Fuji TV again, PRIDE's broadcaster.

i wonder how that happened the whole pride yakuza thing .Unless it is true which i suspect is that sakkikbara doesn't/didn't have mob connections there was no proof that he was.

I believe Fedor said something about bringing in Russian fighters sometime, so could be because of the M-1 connection. Kharitonov fights in M-1, he would be a great addition to the Rizin HW GP.
