Bruno Cappelozza claimed the new Jungle Fight 220-pound title Saturday night, and he’s already scheduled to be back in action.

Cappelozza scored a first-round TKO finish over Sandro Bezerra in the co-main event of Jungle Fight 82 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and earned a shot at the upcoming Rizin Fighting Federation heavyweight tournament. Rizin FF president Nobuyuki Sakakibara, who flew from Japan to Brazil and was in attendance, officially announced the news after the bout.

The Rizin FF eight-man heavyweight tournament’s first round takes place on Dec. 29, and the semifinals and finals will be featured on New Year's Eve. The tournament winner takes home $500,000.

Huge win to get a spot in the HW GP

Hey now. Jordan was an "elite football player" and part of the "new breed". I'm not sure if "new breed" means "football reject turned MMA fighter".

Try explaining that to zombies as they'll say he's scared. 40 to 50k can get them a lot of fighters and they won't force the fighters to wear misspelled crap.

Minakov vs. Fedor would be great. It would suck for Bellator to lose a great talent but Minakov is MIA anyway and hopefully now they'll have a committed heavyweight champion. Glad Minakov would choose to go to Rizin.

RIZIN Fighting Federation is looking to sign HINATA and Kanako Murata.

HINATA is a multi-time kickboxing champion, who has wins over the likes of Souwer, Kyshenko, Jauncey and Jienotsu. Murata is a multiple time junior world wrestling champ who will be looking to make her MMA debut.

^That is great for Diaz. Sucks he won't be at RIZIN but would rather at least see him get his job back. That decision could have been a career-ender.

Coming together quite nicely.

Souwer/Jienotsu being pure mma is quite the surprise. Didn't think Souwer would make the transition so late. He could've been quite the crossover star in the mid 00s with his Shootboxing background. No different than Aerts in HERO*s, I suppose.

Glad to see Jienotsu get back in mma. Really wasted away in IGF. It was clear that if FEG stuck around, he was apart of their plans in both DREAM and K-1.

This could be really cool.  I'm hoping it's like the PRIDE ring but lower to the ground (looking at the photo) so if fighters fall out they won't get hurt and there will be padding on the ground around the ring.  Would be brilliant and PRIDEesque as well.
