AND AN EVENT IN APRIL

I agree  with you so the next one is in APRIL an event every 4 months will be awesome builds hype plus you can the best fighters on the same card rather than the watered cards of the ufc .

I agree. UFC is so over-saturated now it is hard to gain interest in many of the fights, aside from the real big title and solid top contender fights, or SF vs. UFC fights.

It didn't take them very long from lowkick mma So it was the turn of Rizin Fighting Federation to round out the year with some entertaining mixed martial arts action in Japan. Nobuyuki Sakakibara’s updated (or not) version of his classic MMA promotion Pride FC debuted in the early hours of the morning (US time) today. The first part of the two day JMMA offering was headlined by Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Shinya Aoki. The entire results for Rizin FF day 1 can befound here.
But there’s one fight that got overlooked, and is, frankly, suspicious at best. Satoshi Ishii, a former Olympic Judoka and common opponent/punching bag of Fedor Emelianenko and Mirkp Cro Cop took on Jiri Prochazka in a bout that barely got going. Check out the first round finish, in all it’s probably fixed glory: it is not the whole thing i just copied and pasted the first paragraph . from tom winston proof was a a grainy youtube video sent by a zuffa zombie .

does anybody know if the event sold out, both events, at first when the event started there were a lot of seats avaliable towards the middle and end of the show it looked sold out, I hope the event was sold out, and hope tomorrows event is also sold out, this promotion has to succeed, I am telling you guys if Mr. Sakakibara can not make this promotion a huge success JMMA will never ever be back, it might be back in a small way the way its been for years but not the big time way we all want it to be

Toward the end, looked like seats were pretty filled up.  Not sure where the 12,000 figure is coming from.

I agree, the success of this promotion is critical for the success of big time JMMA.

I'm not worried about the attendance here since I think it'll do well. I'm more interested in future attendance to see if JMMA truly is back or if fans only came because it's NYE. Not to mention, I think we have to wait and see after the sign talent and have their own roster.

I think tomorrow with Fedor, Sapp, Aerts, Baruto, NYE, first show success,..., seats will be filled.

i can only imagine how Mr. Sakakibara feels right now, i know i keep on speaking about him, but really look at what he has done in the past, the man is a visionary, yes he might have a shady past but who doesnt, vince mcmahon, eric bischoff, the fertittas, bjorn rebney, don king, bob arum, oscar de la hoya, i could go on and on, al davis, donald sterling, i keep on bringing up these people because all were very successful in there businesses, all shady dealings but yet very successful, too many people say stuff about Mr. Sakakibara but the man knows how to run a successful mma promotion, and i hope he can do it again, i took a picture with him at bellator dynamite, seemed very nice and very excited about this promotion, again we as JMMA fans have to support him right now and spread the word. I have heard Fuji Tv is behind this 100% and that is great news, they need the power of Fuji Tv behind them, i see a bright future for JMMA, lets all support this RIZIN FF promotion

Yeah, he is key to JMMA being big time again. Fuji TV is a must and sounds real promising. They are covering this event and today it was announced that instead of holding the next event in July or August it will be held in April which is real promising news.

Agreed and PRIDE was best at building new stars. The GPs are a great way to do this, especially the way they are handling it.

It sounds like a big production with some changes. Lighting changes, hopefully big screens. Also, may be some LED ring lighting and other revisions. Hopefully looks really similar but improved.
