Aldo asks to have his contract terminated

Post by Kinosis on Tue Sep 27, 2016 8:08 pm

"After all that happened, I realize that I can not trust a word from President Dana White and who runs the event now is Conor McGregor. As I am not here to be McGregor's employee, today I ask to have my contract with the UFC terminated. [...] After being fooled so many times, I no longer feel motivated to fight in the UFC."

Great news. Between the ufc taking away fighter pay through reebok and screwing everyone over for Conor, I hope to see more leave. The dark ages of the ufc ruling finally seems to be ending. The cracks are showing.

Aldo now figured out what we all know: Don't Trust Dana White. I can't blame him as he was put in an interim title fight, he won it, and now is getting fucked over. It's ridiculous and it's ridiculous how people try to defend it. McGregor is a champion and he hasn't made a single title defense since winning the title ten months ago. Meanwhile, he hasn't fought once at Lightweight in the UFC, and lost decisively to Nate Diaz while barely winning the second fight. It's pathetic how The UFC and it's zombies used to trash boxing for it's matchmaking while The UFC does the same thing and the zombies defend it.

Another thing that's ironic is Dana White refuses to release him when he along with his lapdogs in the MMA media went after Bjorn Rebney and Bellator for "holding fighters hostage". I know it's business but you can't go after someone for something and then do the same thing without being a hypocrite.

I know he did nothing wrong. My point is that Dana was going on and on about something and then he goes and does the same thing he was accusing others of doing.

To me it looks like they don't even want Aldo. They never even gave him the obligatory rematch when he lost. The UFC does seem to be very happy to not have Aldo as champion.

Wanderlei Silva supports Jose Aldo’s battle against the UFC: ‘You’ll have the respect you deserve at Rizin

Today is a sad day for the sport. One of the biggest names of our sport came publicly to say he’s dissatisfied with the promotion, retirement too young. Aldo is one of the best fighters in history, and he’s going through the same thing I went through, and I know what you’re feeling, Aldo. And why are you feeling that? Because you’re not a guy that fights for money. You fight for honor. I know your feelings are hurt, and I know damn well how that’s like. They are not doing what they’ve promised you. They promised you that after your last fight you would fight that guy again, and they are not giving you that. They did that to me, too, promised a lot of things and didn’t make it happen.

There are no criteria to say who the next challenger is. Today, whoever talks more is the next challenger. There’s no ranking. The biggest proof is ‘Jacare’ [Souza]. Why can’t ‘Jacare’ get a title shot after his performances in his fights? That’s the biggest issue in our sport – if we’re sport or entertainment. That’s what upsets me the most, seeing a young fighter have his desire to fight thrown in the trash can, you know?

Aldo, I’m here to tell you that I’m with you. I’ve always admired you, the way you behave, and your team. Once again you’re proving that you fight because you’re a samurai, that you love fighting, not because of money, because you’d make the same money if you were fighting for the belt or not. That shows your character, and gets my respect and admiration. I’m sure every fan all over the world is with you now.

As a representative from Rizin, I want to tell you that Rizin’s doors are open for you. I want to invite you to fight in Japan, where you will be respected and put in a place you deserve. As a representative from Rizin in Brazil, I invite you to go there with me so we can make history there together. You will have the respect you deserve there at Rizin, my champion.

Aldo, come to Japan with me. Let’s fight at Rizin. This promotion you’re trying to leave also took my desire to compete away from me. I know what you’re going through. But in Japan I’m treated as the samurai and champion I am and having the respect I deserve, and that’s the respect you deserve as well.

Real good support from Wand. Would be crazy to see Aldo throwing soccer kicks in the Rizin ring one day.

I think Aldo/McGregor 2 would do well but McGregor/Alvarez will prob. do better.

I like that Wanderlei. Telling Aldo it doesn't have to be this way. Sakakibara and Takada will take care of him.

I hope Aldo leaves and goes to Rizin where he will be respected and treated like the warrior he is. I'm so disgusted by all the negative things being said about Jose. The fans are so much different today then they were when most of us got into this.

It's sad and I'm embarrased to tell people I watch because I don't want to be lumped in with assh*les like that.

Anywho, I hope Aldo does not work things out with UFC. I hope he sticks to his guns and goes.

After all it's the Connor McDonald show now anyways.

It's sad and I'm embarrased to tell people I watch because I don't want to be lumped in with assh*les like that.

Anywho, I hope Aldo does not work things out with UFC. I hope he sticks to his guns and goes.

After all it's the Connor McDonald show now anyways.

It's sad how fans immediately write off Aldo's rematch because he already lost in 13 seconds. So because Aldo got caught, he shouldn't get another shot despite going through an interim title fight and winning. Aldo deserves a rematch than McGregor does with a lightweight title shot.

^I don't get that either. He was an unbeaten champ for so long and then gets caught with a shot early in a fight and is tossed to the curb. He has a good reason to be pissed here.
