Fedor Emelianenko next move ?

Post by MR.WILLIE on Tue Oct 04, 2016 2:31 pm

Bruno Massami – ‏@BrMassami

Fedor Emelianenko's future is decided. I'm happy about that. Big news coming soon.

Apparently:

The latest news regarding Fedor's future in mma:
1. Fedor was interviewed this week in Russia and here's what he had to say - «There's too much blabber on the internet, unnecessary, useless and empty information. We are negotiating with some American and Japanese promotions, When we will have specifics details, I will announce them. I'm interested in fighting UFC champions, Bellator champions, And I also have interest in top ten fighters (who are not champions)».

Predict guys! Where he ends up?

I like that he wants to challenge himself with UFC and Bellator champions (I assume he means previous champs) and top 10 fighters. With that said, sounds like he is going to the U.S. Though personally I would prefer him in Rizin.

I kind of hope he doesn't go to UFC. I would like to see fights with guys there but, it's just hard for me to picture Fedor fighting for them.

I think Bellator could use a shot in the ass with HW talent and Bigfoot should be cut soon, Carwin is out there, another Mirko fight would be awesome. King Mo said he would fight Fedor, I like the sounds of that too.

^Yup, there are plenty of fights for Fedor in Bellator/Rizin. I assume he only has a handful left anyway.

When he first came out of retirement he said the same shit .....ufc,Bellator,wanting top 10 opponent......

Until he signs to fight a fighter thats in is weight class and actually matters i won't believe it....he goes where the pay is highest so far and hasnt fought anyone really.

That is part of what he said. But he also said he wanted a couple of warm up fights first to see how he felt first because he had a long layoff. He specifically said he wanted a fight in Japan (which he did against Jaideep) and one in Russia (which he did against Maldonado). If that went well and he felt good he said he would probably look at fighting in the U.S. There is no reason to not believe what he is saying, when so far he has done exactly what he said he would do, in the exact order he said he would do it.

The only question remains now is will he go to a U.S. organization? Obviously the Maldonado fight didn't go well so that could have altered his original plans. Rizin is also still around and getting bigger and signing better guys (other legends) which could also alter his plans. I think the most telling sign though is that Scott Coker went to Tito and offered him a fight with Fedor. He wouldn't have offered that unless he thought he could sign Fedor. Fedor has also done appearances for Bellator and even announced his return at their event. I think that is probably where he is going to go, but I personally want him in Rizin.

Agreed. Plus the ufc is starting to look like a sinking ship. They have lost multiple top fighters to Bellator and many others are very unhappy and wanting out. It seems like every few days a ufc fighter comes out and says they want to leave the ufc. I REALLY hope Fedor doesn't sign with them.

As a fan I would like him to stay in Japan!

Fedor vs cro cop 2 needs to happen eventually

If pezao is eventually release, I'll,watch the fight also

A Russia fight vs Carwin is a very dangerous one

Even at 40 I see him dominating the Bellator hw division, minakov his only threat jumps ship in any moment, he Is already confirmed for the next fight night event

I was wondering what is going on with Bellator and Minakov. I only know vaguely that it's an old problem from when Bjorn was there. I'm not sure if that is exactly true or not because Scott Coker said this and He also said he was going to meet with Minakov and hash things out lol I guess that didn't go as planned

Im leaning toward agreeing with you stu...

If he continues to train primarily in russia and not even fight hws just give him a superfight and call it a career.

Im just tired of the same process with fedor...

Make vague statement about talking to top promotions.....say you want to fight champions or top guys....then we wait months only to be disappointed with his opponent.....

Seriously go to rizin and fight in the gp with guys your size and mostly your age ,go to Bellator and fight actual hws.........ufc being last option but if its the onky way we see him fight legit competition i dont care.

 fedor vs Crocop/wandy/ in Rizin

Fedor vs lashley/mitrione/Kharitonov in Bellator

Fedor vs Barnett/hunt/jds/cain/werdum

Fuck the haters.

Fedor for life.

Prize fighting is dirty business.

Fedor has been fucked over by the politics, that's all.

Let him fight if he wants.

He fought and beat Maldanado at his own game, Maldanado is an undefeated pro boxer with some 20 fights or something.

That was a good fucking fight.

Fedor is already rich and doesn't have to fight to make a living, but he's a true fighter.

If given the opportunity, he can still do big things.

I don't understand why everyone wants to see Fedor v.s Mirko 2 because to me at least this would be a total waste of Fedor's last years and what much rather see him face someone he has never fought with or avenge some of the losses starting with BF Silva,if not that than Kharitonov,Carwin,King Mo,Ivanov,Davis or even Rampage, anyone except someone he already has a decisive win over.

As far as where Fedor goes to me it doesn't really matter as long as the exciting fights are there against opponents he hasn't faced yet,tbh I kind of like it when Fedor fights in the cage because of all the naysayers that claim his losses were partially due
to fighting in one when in reality it was clear that Fedor's skills and physical abilities were beginning to diminish which is natural
with an athlete with that much mileage and it should also be mentioned that at the time of his losses that Fedor's mind was elsewhere instead of focusing on competition and this is evidenced by the many photos of him with his family and friends,so it
was clear at that time that Fedor wanted to take some time off even before the losses.

^There are other fights I would much rather see than Fedor/Cro Cop 2. I really would like to see him avenge his losses to Big Foot and Hendo and maybe as a final career fight, Werdum (in UFC for this one if necessary).

I'm not super big on the Cro Cop fight either.  I'd rather see him fight Wand than Cro Cop, since it's a new fight, though I am sure Fedor vs Cro Cop 2 would be a big ratings fight.  I would like to see him avenge his losses or do new fights.

You're right, ratings wise, the fight would be huge, especially in Japan and also the US and Russia.

yeah, and that's why it was mentioned because it will have everyone watching it. It doesn't do much for Fedor but it's for sure a fight everyone would want to watch.

I would like to see Bigfoot rematch or Carwin instead, and by the look of things it looks very possible that it can happen.

Yup, Carwin too would be another good one I'd prefer over CC 2
