Anything to counteract this I support.
I agree, that rules is just plain stupid and it makes 0 sense. I'm fine with kicks and knees on the ground, including upkicks. If they want to get rid of stomps that's fine, I can live with that (though I am fine with those too).

Soccer kicks and stomps are too brutal imo. M-1 has the perfect rules.

I think that for the sport to be pure, under current conditions, downed kicks are good.
But, my opinion also shouldn't matter.
A fighters' union is badly needed. For the purpose of setting policies, a fighters union is essential.

How many people had their sculls caved in in the 10 years Pride was in business.
Let's be real, soccer kicks look brutal to a western audience which is why some don't want them,
as it in their view limits the market. Are we entrepreneur businessmen or are we fans. Stomps, soccer
kicks and knees on a downed opponents head open up the fight for both strikers and grapplers which
makes the fights more dynamic, not more brutal as it's hard to land a clean soccer kick to an opponent that expects and trains for those strikes. The threat of a soccer kick, stomp, knee in it's self is sufficient to alter the dynamic of a fight.

I like them. Very exciting move that leads to some nice finishes. Probably should go if MMA wants to be considered more "sport," but in terms of pure entertainment a well-placed soccer kick still makes me salivate.
Knees to the head on the ground should be allowed everywhere. I would have no issue if soccer kicks / stomps disappeared completely.

I agree, rezin. Soccer kicks / knees / stomps make the dynamic a lot more exciting, as you can't just turtle and expect to be only hit with knees to the body and ineffective punches to the ears. Imagine Mir-Nogueira II if there were soccer kicks! Mir wouldn't have been able to come back!
However, the soccer kicks / stomps do look bad to a Western audience and that's while you'll never see them in North America. As I said, I like them as a fan, but the sport should probably do away with them if it wants to garner more mainstream recognition as sport.

Soccer kicks are among the most exciting strike in MMA as are stomps and knees on the ground.
They are awesome and fights are usually stopped as soon as soccer kicks start imposing a threat to the opponent (PRIDE would stop fights quickly after soccer kicks were being thrown usually (not always)).
Standing head kicks, knees standing, flying knees, even punches and elbows can all be very dangerous. These are just another weapon in MMA which I think can be just as dangerous as a well placed standing kick or punch.
In Asian MMA, I like to see soccer kicks, stomps, and knees on the ground. It just makes Asian MMA awesome and different. I do not mind the Unified Rules in the U.S., Europe,..., but I love seeing the PRIDE rules or Full Rules in Asia.

As an Mma purist , I'm pro soccer kicks. We saw them in pride , what were so bad about them ? They are the award for dropping your foe.

I think the main problem is when people think of soccer kicks they picture one guy on his hands and knees, barely concious, defenseless and getting booted in the face like a guy kicking a field goal, but thats not the case 99% of the time. Its no more brutal than other strikes its the sport, its fighting.
