KANSAS CITY, Missouri — "The" James Krause (18-4) is eager to start the new year without missing a beat. The dynamic Grind House MMA product, who went unbeaten in three professional MMA bouts in 2012, will now headline RFA 6 as the promotion makes its first foray into his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, January 18th, 2013.

Krause is an RFA mainstay, since the promotion hosted its first event 12 months ago. In that time, he has competed and won in four of the RFA's first five events. Krause is currently riding six-fight win streak, which includes a pair of highlight reel finishes at RFA 4 and RFA 5 last month.

Krause will look to carry that surging wave of momentum as he collides with a familiar foe in Toby Imada in a lightweight bout. The two previously locked horns with in the Quarter-Final of the Bellator: Season 2 - Lightweight Tournament Quarter-Final in April 2010.

That bout came about on very short notice, after Olympic judoka Ferrid Kheder was injured. Imada was scheduled to fight Kheder at Bellator 15 on a card that Krause was also expected to compete. However, Krause was then tapped as Kheder's late replacement. Their bout was then pushed up a week to Bellator 14, which created more drastic weight cutting conditions and fight preparations.

Imada ended up winning the bout via armbar in the second, but needless to say, Krause is eager to erase that loss on his career with a full training camp leading into his rematch with Imada. However, Imada has different things in mind, as he will undoubtedly be looking to silence the naysayers and duplicate the feat that propelled him into his second straight Bellator Lightweight Tournament Final.

What makes this rematch even more intriguing is the fact that Krause and Imada are incredible finishers. 95% of Krause's wins have come via Submission or KO/TKO, while Imada has accomplished the same feat in 94% of his wins. What makes those numbers even more impressive is the fact they have competed in a combined 69 professional MMA bouts.

Fighters don't fight that many times and compile that many highlight reel finishes without going unnoticed. Krause's trademark Guillotine Choke on the ground and Head Kick on the feet followed by hearing Michael Schiavello shout "Good Night Irene" in his Australian accent has become a regular Friday night routine on AXS TV broadcasts.

Meanwhile, Imada's Inverted Triangle Choke submission win over Jorge Masvidal at Bellator 5, that earned him the "2009 Submission of the Year" award, is still talked about to this day. Along with his unorthodox grappling prowess, Imada also holds a Shoot Boxing victory over two-time K-1 World MAX champion and four-time S-Cup Shoot Boxing world champion Andy Souwer.

The RFA 6 main event between Krause and Imada will headline the RFA's first event of the 2013 calendar year. It will be televised on AXS TV on Friday, January 18th live from the Scottis Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri. This will be the RFA's first event in "The Show Me State" and is expected to include many other RFA notables, which will be announced by the promotion in the next few days.

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) has signed two welterweights who made their professional MMA debut, just one month apart from each other, over a decade ago. UFC veteran Brock Larson (35-7) will square off with Strikeforce veteran Eduardo Pamplona (15-3) in the co-main event of RFA 6 - Krause vs. Imada 2. The event will take place on Friday, January 18th, 2013 at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri.

Even though Larson has more than twice the number of fights than Pamplona over the course of their 10+ year careers, both fighters have fought some of the toughest competition for some of the best promotions in the world.

Larson, who is a black belt in jiu-jitsu under Dave Camarillo, got his start in MMA under the encouragement of former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk. Larson quickly became a standout fighter at The Academy also known as Minnesota Martial Arts Academy, which is located in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota.

After winning his first 15 fights, Larson made his UFC debut against fellow UFC newcomer Jon Fitch in October 2005. After making his UFC debut, Larson would string together 9 straight victories, which included 1 in the UFC and 2 in the WEC. That earned him a WEC title shot against eventual UFC interim champion Carlos Condit in August 2007.

Along with his WEC title shot, Larson also earned WEC "KO of the Night" honors and UFC "Submission of the Night" honors, while fighting a combined 11 times for the Zuffa-owned UFC and WEC promotions (6 UFC bouts and 5 WEC bouts). Larson also holds notable wins over Mike Pyle, Carlo Prater, John Alessio, Keita Nakamura, Ryan Jensen, and DaMarques Johnson.

His Brazilian opponent at RFA 6 is a veteran influence on the famed Black House MMA team. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Pamplona has plied his trade around the world for over the past decade. The veteran of 18 bouts has fought in his native Brazil, as well as the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea.

At Black House MMA, Pamplona has trained with some of the greatest fighters in the sport, such as UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, former UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, former UFC interim heavyweight champion and PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, UFC and PRIDE veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and undefeated RFA fighter Pedro Munhoz.

Pamplona is a well-rounded MMA fighter that is a southpaw known for his very technical Muay Thai skills. He is also very experienced having fought for the Zuffa-owned Strikeforce promotion twice, M-1 on three occasions, Jungle Fight, IFL, and Shooto. Pamplona holds notable career victories over UFC and PRIDE veteran Jorge "Macaco" Patino, PRIDE veterans Jose "Pele" Landi-Jons and Daniel Acacio, UFC veteran Edilberto "Crocota" de Oliveira, and Strikeforce veteran Jerron Peoples.

The RFA 6 co-main event between Larson and Pamplona will lead into the RFA main event, which will feature the highly-anticipated rematch between James Krause and Toby Imada. RFA 6 will be televised on AXS TV on Friday, January 18th live from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri. This will be the RFA's first event in "The Show Me State" and is expected to include many other RFA notables.

Dakota Cochrane vs. Deivison Dragon: Lightweight Battle at RFA 6

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) announced the addition of another exciting lightweight bout to their first show of 2013. The bout will feature RFA fan favorite Dakota Cochrane (13-3) vs. Brazilian standout Deivison "Dragon" Ribeiro (23-7). The two are scheduled to fight on the main card of RFA 6 - Krause vs. Imada 2, which is set to take place on Friday, January 18th, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cochrane is the only fighter in RFA history to participate on the first four RFA cards. That includes taking a fight at RFA 2 in March on short notice, just days removed from returning to his home state of Nebraska from Las Vegas, where he participated on the UFC's hit reality television show The Ultimate Fighter 15 (TUF 15). Cochrane's fight on the show was televised live on FX and consisted of one round to get into the TUF 15 house.

The result was perhaps the most controversial of the opening round. In a fight against eventual tournament semi-finalist James Vick, Cochrane appeared to control the center of the Octagon and attempt more takedowns, but dropped a narrow one-round Split Decision.

Cochrane bounced back with two straight highlight reel finishes at RFA 3 and RFA 4 to close out 2012 on a bright note. He will now look to pick up where he left off at RFA 6 against the seasoned Brazilian MMA veteran Dragon.

Dragon fights out of American Top Team (ATT) and Sapo Fight Team (SFT), which is headed by Bellator veteran and ATT fighter Luis "Sapo" Santos. After making his pro MMA debut at age 16 in August 2005, Dragon has put together an impressive fight résumé, while fighting a total of 30 times for some of Brazil's most presitigious MMA promotions. Dragon won the SPF title and also found success fighting for Amazon Fight and Jungle Fight. He also won two fights in one night at Super Grand Prix Combat in July 2011. Since that night, Dragon has won 7 of 8 bouts.

Dragon moved to Miami, Florida in early 2012 and teamed up with Sapo and the rest of ATT. That team of support will come in handy as he makes his American soil debut against Cochrane at RFA 6. Cochrane is one of the biggest names in the Midwest MMA scene, but Sapo and his wife (Strikeforce veteran Carina Damm) teach and train out of Finney's MMA in St. Louis, Missouri. That will help Dragon get acclimated to his surroundings in "The Show Me State".

As far as overall experience is concerned, Dragon is 3 years younger than Cochrane, but he has been fighting over twice as long and has nearly twice the number of fights, which includes a win over Alejandro Mandarina last month at Jungle Fight 45. However, Cochrane, also comes into this bout on a hot streak. In fact, he has picked up wins over two big-name UFC veterans and a Strikeforce veteran in less than a year and a half. Current UFC star and former WEC champion Jamie Varner, former UFC #1 contender and TUF 2 champion Joe Stevenson, as well as Strikeforce veteran Derrick Burnsed have came up short in bouts with Cochrane in the past 16 months.

RFA 6 is set to be headlined by a lightweight rematch pitting four-time RFA victor James Krause against two-time Bellator tournament finalist Toby Imada. The co-main event will feature a welterweight bout between UFC veteran Brock Larson and Strikeforce veteran Eduardo Pamplona. These fights and more will be televised on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT live from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, January 18th, 2013.
