Former mixed martial arts fighter Aleksandr Emelianenko entered the monastery
A famous Russian fighter Aleksander Emelianenko, recently fired from M-1 Global, has decided to spend a few months in a monastery - the IA " PolitSibRu ".
"Dear fans, this summer I was in the monastery on the island of Mount Athos in Greece, is one of the most revered Christian places on earth. Now again, I decided to return to Mount Athos and stay there for several months.
I thank you for your support, for what you have been with me in this last and difficult month for me. I congratulate you on the New Year! I wish you strong health, happiness and harmony within yourself! Exercise regularly and believe in God "- says the athlete on his website.
On the website of the journal Blood & Sweat published photos of Alexander's life at the monastery.
Recall, December 15, Emelianenko as guest of honor attended the "MMA" in Barnaul. And on December 19 it became known what had terminated the contract. Some attribute this to the drunken brawl, which he had built.
According to some reports, he had too much alcohol in the plane, where molested rude flight attendants and passengers, and then allegedly broke the nose of airport employees, because of what was almost arrested by police.
Moreover, according to witnesses, a fighter started a brawl at the restaurant "Prague", where "senior officials" noted a wedding. Competition he attended, according to witnesses, in a drunken state.

Wish him the best. Hope everything works out. He would make so many entertaining fights against those in the UFC HW division.

If he doesn´t have Hep C I prefer to see Aleks in DREAM, M-1 and KSW. He retired but never say never.

Really hoping that Aleks comes out of retirement as a new man with a clear mind & fresh start.
Spending time in a monastery is probably what's best for him based on all the personal stuff he's been through. Sometimes, you just need to get away far to a remote area and re-evaluate his life for the better.
