1. Volkov
2. Monson
3. Gluhov

Garner dropping to 4th. Monson beat Aleks where Gluhov got handled. Due to Grabowski's recent competition he should be no higher than 5. Should Gluhov or Monson win the tourney they should get the #1 over Volkov until his next performance in Bellator.

I have similar thoughts with just a small tweak regarding Monson right now:

Since Garner was number 2, I see the Gluhov victory moving Gluhov to the 3rd spot and Garner to the 4th spot. Volkov taking the second spot.

Then Sergei drops 2 spots for inactivity from number 1 to number 3. This Sergei dropping would then put Volkov at number 1, Gluhov at number 2, and Sergei at number 3. In several weeks Monson fights Malikov. The winner of that fight could jump to the 4th spot. So after that fight the rankings could be:

1. Volkov
2. Gluhov
3. Sergei
4. Monson/Malikov Winner
5. Garner
6. Grabowski

This would follow the ranking rules structure. The overall winner of the GP could then take the number 1 spot after it is complete as you said.

Since Monson is currently ranked at number 6, I can't move him up right now without him actually fighting but he has a major fight coming up that will get him or Malikov into the top 4.

As the GP continues, Sergei and Grabowski will further drop to the GP fighters as the GP fighters will be fighting against ranked fighters throughout the tournament. That could bump Grabowski to the lower tier of the top 10 and Sergei down around 5 or 6 or lower depending on how it plays out.

Because of all the ranked fighters in this GP the HW rankings, especially the top 5 is going to be loaded with them. Sergei and Grabowski will be getting pushed down as the tournament goes on.

Another option (just as of today):

Since Garner was number 2 and Gluhov beat him, Gluhov could take the number 2 spot as of that fight. Then Sergei drops to 3 moving Gluhov to number 1, Volkov to number 2, and Sergei to number 3 as of today.

In regards to Flyweight rankings, I'm thinking it might just be time for me to implement a Strawweight ranking, that way the Flyweights won't look as muddy. Its just hard to keep guys like Sunabe and Ito in the rankings with the further improvement of everyone else.

That way guys like Campuzano, Sampo, and Tome would get ranked like they rightfully should honestly. So yeah, I'm thinking about splitting the two up starting next month.

That would be cool but combined list is cool as well. Unified rules goes down to flyweights so a combined list makes sense as well.

It's just getting to the point where it's becoming difficult to differentiate and establish weight of wins with two separate classes in one ranking. I originally established the ranking to get some of these more unknown guys names out there.

With 125 exploding this year and talks of the UFC establishing a 115 division down the road, therefore allowing that weightclass to develop even further, I think it'll just look better to have a 125 and 115 ranking. Got a lot of work to do now lol.

If Cheick Kongo gets officially released by the UFC, where would you rank him outside the org.?

His record is 18-8-2.

He is 4-2-1 over the last 3 years. Those 2 losses came to Hunt and Nelson. The wins are over Shawn Jordan, Matt Mitrione, Pat Barry, and Paul Buentello. His draw was against Travis Browne.

Stats are below:

Not higher than #7 after Monson. Will he continue fighting or retire? Beating Mitrione, Jordan and Barry isn´t super impressive. Those fighters aren´t better than the fighters on our rankings plus he just got KOed by Nelson and Hunt.

I wouldn't rank Kongo until he's had a fight. He's a poor HW anyway.

We already rank fighters before they have a fight outside Zuffa so we need to do the same with Kongo. Maybe we should change this rule so all fighters need one fight before they´re ranked? Do you rank Kongo over Emelianenko or Arlovski? If not he´ll be in the contenders.

Monson's 15-2 & 1 draw in his last 18 fights with the 2 losses being Fedor & Cormier. Laughing

Yeah, I will hold off on ranking him until we find out if he plans to continue fighting or what the deal is.

I agree, not the most impressive wins in the last 3 years.

I think it makes sense to rank them once they are officially out of UFC. If Barnett was to sign to an org. it would be great to have him as top HW right away. Just makes sense for fighters like this. As soon as fighters go to UFC they are taken off and some of the SF fighters got high rank in UFC's new rankings.

Thanks for all the input. It sounds like bottom of top ten or top of contenders.

Will wait to find out what his plans are.

I understand the points on not ranking until after a fight outside the org. but can't wait on some of the fighters that have or could come over like King Mo, Barnett, Rampage, Fitch,...
